MWSRA is committed to supporting female referees through our New Referee Development Program and through regional partnerships. MWSRA is collaborating with Women and Girls in Soccer (WAGS) to encourage women of all ages to become Grade 8-certified soccer referees through a new Grade 8 referee course March 10th and 11th in Alexandria, VA.
With far too few female soccer referees, this is one step making soccer officiating a more accessible profession in the region. Our young female soccer players who are considering taking up officiating are lacking role models. This clinic is an opportunity to increase the quantity and quality of female referees in the metro area in a supportive, female-centric environment. The course will be taught by VA/DC instructor Diane Florkowski at Edison High School, 5301 Franconia Road, Alexandria, Virginia.
WAGS as host and sponsor will reimburse costs associated with the course to females in attendance. Reimbursement will occur Sunday at the conclusion of the instruction. For questions relating to the reimbursement, please email email@example.com.
The clinic is scheduled from 9:30-11:30 am March 10, 2018 at Edison High School’s Field, 12:00-4:00 in classroom 112 at Edison, and 9:30-12:30 March 11, 2018 in classroom 112. Candidates must attend all three sessions completely and complete all the online modules before the clinic to attend the clinic
