On Sunday, March 21, 2021, long time Maryland State Referee Administrator and US Youth Soccer East Region Referee Administrator, Greg Watson passed away from COVID-19-related complications.
Greg was an outstanding advocate for the growth of the game of soccer, not only in Maryland and DC, but across the East Region and beyond. As a pillar in the soccer community, Greg graciously and tirelessly gave his time and abilities. Blessed with an abundance of charm and compassion, Greg had the ability to encourage and inspire all of those around him.
Over the years, Greg personally, positively impacted the lives of countless individuals and played an important role in the career development of so many referees. Greg will truly be missed.
